Who are you
With backgrounds in science, music, education, and fashion design, Saki the Artist uses interdisciplinary art as a powerful tool for communication and change. Her work focuses on raising awareness for social and environmental causes, merging creativity with application and advocacy, to inspire meaningful action.
Originally from California, Saki moved to Vienna because of its reputation for being an arts and culture hub, and also because of Europe's strong commitment to environmental protection. After relocating to Vienna, Saki connected with the Sixt Lab at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria because of their Green Labs Initiative. Saki creates fine art pieces from the non-recyclable lab plastics collected by participating scientists, and uses them to raise awareness and interest in such programs, and to encourage people to think about how they as individuals can contribute to making scientific research more sustainable.
