Who we are
The research at the Institute for Chemical Technology of Organic Materials at the Johannes Kepler University Linz strongly focuses on applied organic chemistry with a special focus on macromolecular chemistry. In our projects we span the whole chain of knowledge from the synthesis via reaction kinetics to analytics and macroscopic properties. Another area we are active in is the field of high-pressure biotechnology for better gas conversion meaning higher efficiency.
Why/How are we going Green
Chemistry and the chemical industry are in many aspects the basis of our modern life. In order to change into a more sustainable way of working we need to reduce the carbon dioxide footprint paired with the demand of constant product quality and safety. Thus, we want to be a partner for other academics and industry to research and develop more efficient and sustainable chemical routes. However, global problems have a local aspect, and we want to contribute with local solutions for major challenges. This also includes a conscious (re-)use of consumables and equipment in our very own laboratories.
