Cell signaling associated with age-related diseases

Who we are

Our lab investigates the regulation and function of cellular calcium homeostasis under physiological and pathophysiological conditions.

Thereby, our core research focus is on the mechanism of mitochondrial calcium uptake and its implication in signaling pathways associated with age-related diseases.

To study these processes of intracellular signal transduction in great detail, we use and develop various tools of fluorescent microscopy.

Why/How are we going Green

Studying cellular signaling on a daily basis, we are well aware of how vulnerable our cells, our body, and our planet is in regard to toxic products and environmental pollution.

Therefore, we are happy to join the GreenLab movement and to live a healthier lifestyle, eventually increasing our productivity at the workplace as well as at home.
